Back pain from gaining too fast

I read in your profile you already lift weights. NOW you have more weight! 😁 As with safe gym lifting, the increase is usually gradual so your body can keep up without injury. It's important to keep that balance as you gain as well, to avoid pain.

Deadlifts, I believe, will be your friend. Strengthen and stretch!! Start slow, and keep *good form* and... I wondered why others took their shoes off - it honestly helps with balance and form. My shoe heels had a little lift in the soles and it was bothering my lower back. In socks-only, WAY better.

Deadlifts sound like a great idea. Thanks! I'll give it a shot.

No problem! Sometimes I do barbell squats, with proper form that may help, too. I carry a lot of weight in my belly and the rest in my ass 🤣 but I haven't had lower back pain in years. Ironically it only gets bad if I don't go to the gym and sit on the couch for a couple of weeks. Use it or lose it? LOL!

Deadlifts killed my back! I have resuscitated it with laying on my back on the floor with legs straight in the air and breathing deeply into my core, other core strengthening, pushups, walking and yoga/stretching. Not more deadlifts.

But that's just my experience. Other poster is right about staying active.

No matter which exercise you choose, strengthening your back and core are key.

deadlifts are definitely killer if you're not careful. I always have to pyramid my way up to them if I've stopped doing them for a while. Personally I really like doing barbell squats because it helps strengthen your legs which once you get to higher weights will help you stay mobile longer, and it naturally engages the supporting muscles in your abs and lower back and helps prepare them for taking on more weight

Some people might be willing to push through. However, most aren't. Finances and discomfort are among the most common reasons why people stop gaining or even lose weight.

A happy, healthy feedee is more open to gaining than one that isn't.

And I am speaking as a sadistic extreme feeder.

True to nature. It’s an unhealthy kink no matter how u look at it. If one is willing to keep gaining and sharing the amusement park ride the whole through on their journey. I love being the fly on the wall and enjoying the show 😁🪰

It's not necessarily an unhealthy kink. It really depends on how you go about it. For example, I used to be a gainer. Started out as 115 and stopped at 168. While this makes me overweight for my height, I am healthier than I have ever been.

I don't get sick as much, I'm stronger, I am no longer diabetic, the list goes on.

In OP's case, it seems he doesn't enjoy the discomfort of getting too fat too fast. On top of that, he goes to the gym to maintain fitness. As such, I doubt he'd be interested in being unhealthy and in pain.

But I am sure you can find someone else who is.
